An electronic copy of your written agreement and an electronic receipt for your deposit will always be provided.
A nonrefundable booking fee (retainer/deposit) equal to 25% of the fee for photography services is due at the time of booking/signing of contract. Advance payment for all props, locations, and/or other rentals, as well as all subcontractor fees (assistants, crew, etc.), must be paid for in full at the time of booking. The remaining final payment is due upon delivery of proofs. Proofs and any other images will remain fully watermarked until payment in full has been received. Failure to submit payment by its due date may result in a full cancellation of your shoot and a forfeiture of your deposit. Late payments are assessed at a rate of 5% of the remaining balance due per week late. Accepted methods of payment include cash or PayPal invoice. Business checks may also be accepted from corporate clients and business owners at the discretion of the photographer. However, payments via business check are not considered paid until cleared, and proofs/images will remain watermarked until business check has been process and cleared by bank. Client is held legally responsible for any penalty fees for non-sufficient funds related to their payment(s). Personal checks are not accepted. An electronic receipt for all payment(s) will always be provided.
In the event that Photographer is responsible for payment to independent contractors such as stylists, photo assistants, digital techs, talent, other crew, etc., fees for all subcontractors are due in full at the time of booking in order to comply with state employment laws and ensure timely payment of all contractors on set.
Additional finished photos beyond the number of images included in your package are available for purchase at the rate outlined in your written agreement. Payment for additional photos is due at the time of order. Retouching work will not begin on photos until payment has been fulfilled.
Standard retouching of final selected images includes color and exposure correction as well as the removal of blemishes and other non-permanent aspects of the model's physical appearance, smoothing out lightly wrinkled clothing, and the removal of minor but distracting details of the composition, background, product, or environment. In an effort to celebrate diverse types of beauty and responsibly confront the negative effects of unrealistic beauty standards depicted by the media over the last several decades, the photographer does not offer retouching services in which a model's body type, weight, height, skin color, or age are dramatically altered. If extensive retouching is required that falls within the scope of dramatically altering the appearance of a model to conform with "idealized" beauty standards, a third-party retouching service will be required and must be arranged and paid for separately by the client.
Extensive Commercial Retouching
Standard retouching and color correction of final selected images is included with all shoots. Extensive retouching will be billed at an additional hourly rate, depending on the client's needs. For shoots requiring extensive retouching (including but not limited to beauty, high fashion, advertising, e-commerce, digital compositing, and/or photo manipulation), a third-party professional digital artist may be required. Please inquire prior to booking about your specific post-production and retouching needs. In the event that extensive post-production retouching cannot be provided in-house, the photographer is happy to offer recommendations for high-quality professionals upon request.
Client requests for rescheduling should be submitted no later than 72 hours prior to scheduled shoot, except in specific emergency situations. Rescheduling requests are not guaranteed and depend solely on the availability of the photographer. In the event of rescheduling, a new date must be agreed on in writing within 31 calendar days of the original date booked. Rescheduled shoots require a revised written agreement signed by both parties, and may require additional fees depending on permits, studio rentals, etc.. Client is responsible for any studio or location fees associated with the original canceled date. Because the photographer is self-employed and relies on bookings to stay in business and pay bills on time, all payment due dates are final. Rescheduled shoot dates will depend solely on the availability of the photographer. In the event of rescheduling, payment is due in full on the original date agreed upon in your written agreement.
Client is responsible for any studio, location, or other rental fees associated with the canceled date. Because the photographer is self-employed and relies on bookings to stay in business and pay bills on time, all scheduled payment due dates are final. In the event of a cancellation, payment is due in full on the original date agreed upon in your written agreement.
Client is responsible for carrying their own insurance as required by law, locations, studios, and as deemed necessary by the client themselves in relation to the needs of their business. Photographer carries her own business and general liability insurance policies and will not add clients to those policies. However, photographer may agree to add studios or locations to her policies if required by the venue for photography. Client is responsible for any additional fees incurred for adding locations, studios, or otherwise to photographer's insurance policy if required for the shoot.
All fees associated with location rental and location permits, including insurance if necessary for the shoot, must be acquired and paid for by the client per the individual needs of their project in consultation with the photographer.
Studio + Set Rentals
If your shoot requires the use of a studio or set, please inquire with photographer prior to booking to discuss options for local studios. Studio rental fees are not included in rates and must be arranged prior to booking. Photographer is happy to provide suggestions for local studios and sets that offer competitive rates.
Travel, Parking, and Lodging Fees
All parking and travel fees will be billed to the client after the shoot and must be reimbursed to the photographer on the same date final payment is due. Shoots that require travel beyond 20 miles of downtown Los Angeles will be billed a mileage rate of 53 cents per additional mile after the included 20 miles. Airfare and overnight hotel accommodations for locations beyond 100 miles of downtown Los Angeles as well as out-of-state and international shoots must be arranged and paid for by the client prior to the shoot. Overnight accommodations are required for full-day shoots at locations further than a four-hour drive from downtown Los Angeles.
ADDITIONAL CREW (OPTIONAL)
Photo Assistants + Digital Technicians
Photo assistants and/or digital technicians are often necessary on large commercial shoots in order to keep things running on schedule and looking picture-perfect. In order to comply with state and federal employment law, fees for assistants, digital techs, and any other subcontractors necessary for the shoot are billed to the client at an additional hourly rate and must be paid in full at the time of booking, in addition to the booking fee/deposit. Please inquire with photographer prior to booking for recommendations about the specific crew needs of your project.
