BOOKING AND PAYMENT POLICIES
A written agreement signed by both parties is required for booking. Shoot dates and times are not reserved unless agreement has been signed by both parties and a deposit has been paid by client. An electronic copy of your written agreement and an electronic receipt for your deposit will always be provided.
A nonrefundable booking fee (deposit) equal to 50% of your total fee is due at the time of booking/signing of contract. The remaining 50% of your total fee is due upon delivery of proofs. Proofs and any other images will remain fully watermarked until payment in full has been received. Failure to submit payment by its due date may result in a full cancellation of your shoot and a forfeiture of your deposit. Late payments are assessed at a rate of 2% of the remaining balance due per day. Accepted methods of payment include cash or PayPal invoice. Business checks may also be accepted from corporate clients and business owners at the discretion of the photographer. However, payments via business check are not considered paid until fully cleared by bank, and proofs/images will remain watermarked until business check is cleared by bank. Client is held legally responsible for any penalty fees for non-sufficient funds related to their payment(s). Personal checks are not accepted. An electronic receipt for all payment(s) will always be provided.
Additional finished photos beyond the number of images included in your package are available for purchase at the rate outlined in your written agreement. Payment for additional photos is due at the time of order. Retouching work will not begin on photos until payment has been fulfilled.
Extensive Commercial Retouching
Standard retouching and color correction is included with all shoots. Extensive retouching will be billed at an additional hourly rate, depending on the client's needs. For shoots requiring extensive retouching (including but not limited to beauty, high fashion, advertising, e-commerce, digital compositing, and/or photo manipulation), a third-party professional digital artist may be required. Please inquire prior to booking about your specific post-production and retouching needs. In the event that extensive post-production retouching cannot be provided in-house, the photographer is happy to offer recommendations for high-quality professionals upon request.
Client requests for rescheduling should be submitted no later than 72 hours prior to scheduled shoot, except in specific emergency situations. Rescheduling requests are not guaranteed and depend solely on the schedule and availability of the photographer. In the event of rescheduling, a new date must be agreed on in writing within 31 calendar days of the original date booked. Rescheduled shoots will require a revised written agreement signed by both parties, and may require additional fees depending on permits, studio rentals, etc.. Client is responsible for any studio or location fees associated with the canceled date. Please note that rescheduling a shoot does not affect the due dates of your original payment schedule.
Because the photographer is self-employed and relies on bookings to stay in business and pay bills, all bookings are final. Rescheduled shoot dates will depend solely on the availability of the photographer. In the event of a full cancellation, payment is due in full on the original date agreed upon in your written agreement.
Fees for location rental and location permits, if necessary for the shoot, must be acquired and paid for by the client per the individual needs of their project in consultation with the photographer.
Studio + Set Rentals
If your shoot requires the use of a studio or set, please inquire with photographer prior to booking to discuss options for local studios. Studio rental fees are not included in rates and must be arranged prior to booking. Photographer is happy to provide suggestions for local studios and sets that offer competitive rates.
Travel, Parking, and Lodging Fees
All parking and travel fees will be billed to the client after the shoot and must be reimbursed to the photographer on the same date final payment is due. Shoots that require travel beyond 30 miles of downtown Los Angeles will be billed a mileage rate of 53 cents per additional mile after the included 30 miles. Airfare and overnight hotel accommodations for distant location, out-of-state, or international shoots must be arranged and paid for by the client prior to the shoot. Overnight accommodations are required for full-day shoots at locations further than a four-hour drive from downtown Los Angeles.
Photo Assistants + Digital Technicians
Photo assistants and/or digital technicians are often necessary on large commercial shoots in order to keep things running on schedule and looking picture-perfect. Fees for assistants and digital techs are billed to the client at an additional hourly rate and must be agreed upon prior to booking. Please inquire with photographer for recommendations about the specific needs of your project.
Hair, Makeup, Wardrobe, and Stylists
Professional hair and makeup artists, wardrobe stylists, and prop stylists are a good idea to ensure high-end, polished images. These services are not included in listed rates. Photographer is happy to offer recommendations for high-quality professionals in the Los Angeles area upon request.
Props are a wonderful addition to any shoot. If you would like to include custom props with your shoot, please consult the photographer prior to booking. Expenses for props are the responsibility of the client, and a budget for props should be discussed with the photographer prior to booking. For shoots that require custom-designed and/or conceptual props, the photographer strongly recommends hiring a professional prop designer. Photographer can offer recommendations for high-quality professionals in the Los Angeles area upon request.
Custom Set Design
